State troopers on Monday were forced to intentionally flatten the tires of an out of control car on I-95.
Joseph Cooper of Palm Coast made a call at 12:46 p.m. Monday. He had just entered Martin County as he drove north on I-95.
“I believe my gas pedal is stuck to my car,” Cooper calmly told the 911 operator.
Cooper told the operator he didn’t know why the gas pedal was stuck. He also didn’t know what to do about it as his black BMW reached dangerous speeds.
“I’m doing like 95, about 100,” he told the operator. Miraculously, no one was injured, and police were able to eventually use a Pit Maneuver to bring the BMW under control.
